I'm going to be 100% honest right now. So take this as a forewarning if you must, because this is about to be a no holds barred opinion fest with sprinkles of rage littered here and there. So if you are a weak stomached, easily offended, least common denominator pandering gerbil, then I suggest you hit the road right now and come back when one of our lighter hearted topics returns. This is the first post in which I have aired my political opinions, but I'm almost positive that it won't be the last. So without further ado, I introduce a topic that America can't seem to get enough of.
Much like the majority of people in America, or in the world, with a quarter of a brain, I think that Donald Trump perhaps encompasses everything that foreign countries, and Americans themselves, hate about the United States. He's basically just the drunk uncle at a barbecue who everyone is just waiting for to pass out so they can stop delivering their "much needed" opinions. The only difference between him and a full fledged KKK member is that I bet he's too cheap to send his hood to the dry cleaners. I can't necessarily say that I think that Trump himself is a bad person, seeing as I've never sat down and had a conversation with the guy, but I just hate everything that he represents.
He makes it out to seem as though every single immigrant is evil incarnate and is not worthy of the air that natural born American's breathe. His perfect picture of an American doesn't necessarily stray too far from a famous Chancellor we still learn about in our world history. The thing that I'm most disgusted with is the fact that because he puts on a suit and talks the loudest in a room filled with other people, he somehow fools every American who is idiotic enough to get sucked into his spell that it's perfectly acceptable to speak about groups of people as though they are animals living under their homes.
To all Trump supporters who are full fledged racists, I have one question for you: do you realize that original Americans weren't blonde haired and blue eyed? The only REAL Americans in the country are NATIVE Americans. As in they're natives to the land. Well, the piece of land that they were shoved into due to colonization. Whatever, that's a whole different post that I'm not sure I have the energy or typing speed to really get into.
Anyway, when it comes to the highly offensive wall, I truly don't know what to say. The whole idea sounds like it came from some dystopian screenplay about what would have happened if the Berlin Wall had never come down and the Russians had forced Americans to strongly consider an orange, hair pieced, 18th century Confederate senator for our president whilst implementing a rule that we had to build an aggressively unnecessary, expensive wall of our own.
Trump saying that he wants to keep Muslims out of America essentially drives home the idea that small minded Americans already have that every single Muslim ever is a terrorist that has placed a target on the red white and blue. It can't be denied that yes, some Muslims are terrorists, but to say that the terrorism lies within the entire religion of Islam is the kind of disgusting assumption that has caused genocides all over the world for centuries. However, he seems to casually leave out the fact that terrorism comes in all shapes, sizes, race, religions, sexualities, and genders. But how could he and his supporters really know this when the media has been trained to only identify terrorism when it is committed by someone who looks different than the typical Johnny America depiction. There are a multitude of heinous acts of terror committed by people who look exactly like Mr. Trump himself, but the media wouldn't dare call them a terrorist. Dylan Roof committed one of the most disgusting hate crimes of the 21st century thus far yet the media would not put the label of a terrorist on him. Perhaps he truly was just "misunderstood".
The media is just as much to blame for Trump and his antics as, well, he is. His crystal clear racism reared its ugly head yet again when he attacked a supreme court judge of Mexican descent. I remember seeing one article covering the matter that had the phrase "Trump's racial criticism". I'm sorry, but what in God's green Earth does "racial criticism" mean? Does that mean to say that if Trump doesn't like the fact that someone is Mexican, he can criticize them in hopes that maybe they could become less Mexican? Media, as much as I love you, you're going to have to take an L for that one.
He's out of touch, he's out of line, and he's just plain misinformed. I know that in America, Mr. Trump is a relatively well-respected businessman, and I know that he has created a plethora of jobs. I will not, however, go into the amount of money that he has lost for a large amount of people. I will simply end on another loss that he has provided America. That loss comes in the form of respect from literally any other country in the world. The fact that his name will be on the ballot this November is like waking up to discover that the country that has been a work in progress for nearly 240 years has been set back about 50 years into the past. A past filled with uncertainty and pure embarrassment.
